Looking for a good keyboard application launcher for your Eee PC? EeeUser forum member md81544 put together Mercury, a nifty little application that lets you launch programs without clicking on shortcuts or pulling up a terminal first. It works much like Launchy for Windows or Quicksilver for Mac.

You'll need to understand a few terminal commands in order to install Mercury, but you should be able to get it up and running pretty easily whether you're using the Eee PC in easy mode or advanced mode. I don't see any reason you couldn't use it with other distributions like Ubuntu as well, but you might want to look into more full-featured program launchers like Gnome-Do if you're using another distro.
